Im about to travel to china to make purchase, i want to know if i can carry cash as much as $30,000 with me , and do i need to decclare the cash also.

Yes, you have to declare it when you go through the customs. When you leave PRC with more than 5000 USD, you will be asked to provide Foreign Currency Holding Certificate. It's complicated to get this certificate.
