About:Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia

Do I need a transit Visa for the 6 hours transit?

I am traveling To NEW ZEALAND ViA Hon Kong transit 6 hours holding Ethiopian Passport.

You need to apply for a transit visa in advance unless you hold a Diplomatic or Official passport.
