Sending Contact Lens from Malaysia to China

I got a pair of contact lens made in Malaysia and my aunt was going to send it to me as a gift as I did not have enough time to physically collect it myself since it will take a month to make. I was wondering how much i need to put in as the value so that it will clear customs with no problems? and tax free? the contact lens was about 800 Malaysian Ringgit.

It is fine to put in the actual price. There won't be any problem and it is tax free!

Are you sure? When I went to look at the China Customs website it had said that:

Individual’s articles mailed from or to other areas except the above two (HK and Macau), shall be limited to the value of RMB 1000 and duty-free allowances of RMB 500 at one time. Customs shall levy import duties on the portion of articles whose value exceeds the above-mentioned duty-free limit.

So i am just trying to not pay duty charges when it arrives as you can imagine. My contacts come out to about 1600RMB.
