About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Can I apply directly even though I have a working visa in Japan?

Hi, I am living in Tokyo on a working visa (it just got extended for one year). I am planning to buy my plane tickets to Shanghai and book a hotel online, not through a travel agency. Can I apply in person from the Chinese consulate in Tokyo? Thank you for your advice.

I am afraid not, you have to apply through a travel agency in Tokyo according to the requirements released on the website of Chinese embassy.
