Hello Marj. I'm also a 54 horse and sorry to hear you're still in debt. May I humbly advise that 2014 may not be a year to be bold in the share market (unless you identify early a killer concept). Worldwide valuations seem to be stretched and a lot of hope has been factored in to international markets.
If you're single, maybe try the tested method of marrying an older man. He'll be grateful for the attention in a world where older women's preferences (dreams?) seem to be trending towards younger men. I'm not intending to be sexist, just realistic. In my experience, women become more particular about selecting a new partner with age while men become more accommodating.
