Spring Festival Crowds at Haikou Meilan Airport

My flight is on Saturday 25 January at 8:30 a.m. on China Southern Airlines. I was planning to arrive at the airport around 7, but I was told today that one of my coworkers missed a flight, partly because of the crowds. Would it be crowded more than usual that early on a Saturday because of Spring Festival?

Also, I planned to take a taxi from my apartment to the airport (vicinity of Huahai Lu & Longhua Lu). Would the route to the airport have a lot of traffic if I leave at 6:30 (or earlier!) that day?
