how long should package be located at the airport?

Question

I have a package that is going from China to the USA that was last updated on Jan. 5, 2014 as being at the airport. Since that time almost 10 days later, the package has no tracking location update. Should I be concerned or is this common? I have had other items shipped to the USA and this has not happened. Thanks for a response

To my experience, the package generally stays in the airport for no more than a week. The reason that there is update since then is that your parcel has left the airport. It is being transported somewhere overseas, and the exact place is hard to location. Anyway, it is heading for the destination. Don't worry!
