The ticket from Hung Hom to Lo Wu is not needed to book in advance.
After you get out of the Lo Wu Station, you can easily find the Border Gate. After you pass the border gate, you will reach Shenzhen and you can see the direction boards for Exit A of Luohu Subway Line. You can walk to reach one to two minutes.0

The fare is the same.
I think it is less crowded from Lok Ma Chau to SZ through Futian Port.0
