Self Converting

Thanks for always being so helpful btw. Quick question. Just to be clear, if my device says 140v~240v does that mean I don't need a converter and can just plug it right in to the socket? I'm planning on using a surge protector plugged into the socket through an adapter. The only thing I can imagine that I'll be plugging up is my laptop, my cell phone and my electric razor. My laptop charger says 140v~240v and my cell phone charger says Input: 100-240V~50-60Hz, 0.35A. So with these being "self-converting", I shouldn't need an adapter right?

Like Europe, the switchable converters sense the incoming voltage and switch to the appropriate input, with the same output voltage. So all you need is a plug converter.

Please use caution if you plan to use a surge protector purchased in the USA, as the surge coil will overheat, and in my own experience, will catch fire on a 220v connection. All of my "on the road" devices are 100-240v 50/60hz, but there is a convenience factor in plugging them into a single point. Personally, I travel with a compact Japanese power strip with no surge protection.
