F Visa only with Invitation Letter

I'm going to do an internship in China for a 6 months period (less than 180 days). Which type do I get? F or M? If it's an F, do I need something else other than the invitation letter? What is a confirmation letter of invitation? Where do I get that? Thank you!

An F will be ok for internship. And invitation letter from the company is enough for application.

Hi. I just came back from the chinese embassy here in Brazil. Now they told me that internships are not allowed anymore. The guy at the embassy, who can barely speak portuguese or english, told me that the company needs to send me a new letter, saying that it is a cultural or business cooperation program. I cant say work or internship at all! What kind of visa would be it? Will I be allowed to get a 6 months one? I try to ask the guy and he couldn't understand what I was asking.

Really? the purpose of a culture or business cooperation program sounds reasonable to avail F either as for non-commercial visit. To my understanding, it is still possible to get a 6 month one.
