Visa for private accomodation

Hi I have been offered to stay in a friends apartment for a month in Feb. Would I have enough time to apply, and does it make a diff not staying at a hotel? What if I wanted to work as an English transcribe for a few weeks? Thanks

Hi, if you stay in a friend's apartment, you need to provide an invitation letter from your friend for application as well as a copy of his/her Chinese ID. Otherwise, hotel reservation is required. After entry, you and your friend need to register with your passport to local Police station.
