What is the bus fare for bus around Hong Kong? Is it like taxi, every meter there is a rate charged?

The buses are charged on distance.
For instance, the line A10, it is charge 48HK$ for the whole journey from the airport to Ap Lei Chau Estate. It is around 40HK$ from Lantau Link Toll Plaza to Ap Lei Chau Estate. It is 10HK$ from any station from Connaught Garden, Connaught Road West to Yu Chun Keung Memorial College No.2, Pok Fu Lam Road to Ap Lei Chau Estate. For the last several stations, the price is around 7HK$.0
