Is there a direct speed train from HK to Shanghai return? May I know it takes how long, how much?

I will go to HK 4-13 Jan 2014. May I know the schedule of direct speed train from HK to Shanghai return, and how to get the tickets? Many thanks

As far as i know, tickets from Hongkong to Shanghai and return are released to the public 60 days in advance. Thus, the tickets for Jan. may not be available now. However, you can travel from Hongkong to Guangzhou first, then transfer to Shanghai. The duration from Guangzhou to Shanghai is about 20 hours, and the price for soft sleeper is CNY668.

why waste time go to guangzhou, more train from shenzhen to shanghai, and have much faster D train, 12 hours
