About:Apply for China Visa in a Third Country

Applying for a Visa in HK and not directly entering China

I am a German exchange student, currently living in Taiwan. I want to visit Hongkong in January, then I will go back to Taiwan and also visit Malaysia, however, I would like to enter the PRC in February and I am wondering if I can already apply for my Chinese Visa in January or not? Thank you very much for your help!

The embassy suggests that the application should be submitted one month before departure but shouldn't be earlier than three months. So I think you can apply for that in January.
