Transit Visa Shanghai

Does the passport need to be valid 6 months also if I enter China in Shanghai and will transfer to another country within 72h? My passport will be valid for 3 months when I am going home. I travelling from Vietnam and I don't need one for Vietnam and the passport need to valid for 3 months. Do I need to get a new passport or can I use my current for Shangha transit?

The six months passport is required when you apply from the embassy or consulate. I am not sure about this. You might confirm this with Shanghai Airport Immigration Inspection at 0086-21-51105100.
