About:China Customs Declaration

you say travellers need to declare cash(>RMB20,000), do I need to pay tax on it when I declare them?

It is fine to just declare and no need to pay tax.

Though you don't need to pay tax, you cannot take too much in, or the extra will be conficated. Anyway, if you really need to use many money in China, consider remittance!
