what gifts can I bring into Shanghai??

For Christmas, I am visiting my family ( they are Canadians) living in Shanghai . I am flying from Singapore ( we are also a Canadian family living in Singapore ).
My question is can I bring gifts of chocolate ,boxed foods and alcohol from Singapore into Shanghai?. How much am I allotted to bring? Is there any foods/drinks that I can not bring?.
Thank you, Natalia

Yes, you can take these things into Shanghai. As I know, there is no limitation about chocolates and packed food. Just fill in the actual information when declaring customs.
For alcohol, if it is over 12 degrees, it is allowed to take into 2 bottles (at most 1.5 litres) tax free.

Generally, it is ruled that the total value of these things should be within CNY5,000, or you need to pay tax.
