About:China Tourist Visa

Which visa and how to get through this mess ?

Im an Architect, did my masters from Vienna Austria, and now I got hired by an Architecture firm in Beijing, but they are having issues to secure the invitation letter (that is issued by a Govt. authority or foreign ministry in China) for the F type, so they suggested me to come by tourist L and they would convert it there after my probation or before it is also possible as i understood them, BUT since my Pakistani PP does not allow me to travel individually so im stuck in a mess.

What i don't understand is that i want to go through the proper legal channel of things as i am not doing anything wrong, i got hired on my merits and still its just not possible, just because my passport is Pakistani .

Any suggestions or advice would be welcomed.

Seriously, a F type is not ok for you to work legally in PRC. You should apply for a Z type. And I was told that visa type conversion couldn't be done within PRC.

Thank you for your reply Susan. i understand that i would need a Z visa, but since at the moment i would on probation in the office for the first 2 months, so the status of my employment is more like an internship for that duration. And as the office mentioned that they would change my status once i complete the probation, so i just would want a solution for the first 2 months.

Then I think you should apply for a F type for your two months' "Internship" and then reapply for the Z type when your internship is over. As I said, visa type conversion can't be done in PRC now according to the new rules. Just make sure that your employer can figure out how to apply for a Z for you.
