About:China Transit Visa

how do I get a free stay visa?

I will fly from los Angeles to guangzhou, then Vietnam. I stay in Guangzhou's airport less than 24h. so how can I apply for a free stay permit?

If you don't go out of the airport, you needn't apply for the stay permit. Since you stay less than 24 hours and have onward air ticket for Vietnam, you don't need to apply for a visa too.
