About:Chinese Consulate in Melbourne

Hi, do I need to make an appointment with CVASC to obtain a visa to visit China?

or am I able to visit CVASC to secure one? the website is useless, the phone number only has an automated service and I am unable to speak with anyone. I am wanting to visit the CVASC and apply in person to sort out my application, however I am unsure if I need to make an appointment, if an appointment is required how do I do this when the website will not allow it and calling does not help either? please advise......Ruth from Melbourne
