Yes, you can apply from Chinese embassy if you hold valid visa in Nepal. The normal processing time is four days. It costs 37 USD for a single entry, 56 USD for a double entry, 74 USD for a six months multiple type and 111 USD for a one year multiple one.

The required documents are:
1. filled application form affixed with a recent passport size photo
2. copies of your passport info page and previous Chinese visas (if you have)
3. invitation letter, travel itinerary and a letter of personal information (where you plan to visit, name, address and contact info).
4. if you don’t have the invitation letter, round trip air tickets and hotel booking in PRC are required. Also you should provide a letter of personal info. A six months bank saving proof is also needed.

Yes, regular service takes 4 working days for processing, and you can visit the embassy directly. Appointment is not required.
