About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

do I need to apply for a visa before I leave or can I get the TWOV when I arrive at the airport?

Hey, I'm flying Brisbane - London with a half day stop over in Guangzhou... Thanks.

No, it is not required if your stopover there is only a half day.
