About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Where to apply for free visa

Hello, I am travelling Vancouver to Kuala Lumpur and plan to transit in Shanghai for about 70 hours.

I understand I am supposed to apply for the free transit at the Shanghai airport. Do you know specifically where I would apply, i.e., at the airport Immigration as I disembark? Or, at the specific office at the Shanghai airport? .

Don't worry, after getting off the plane you will head for immigration. There are counters/signs that say "Transit visa exemption" or you will see something like this. You just need to fill in the Arrival & Departure Card form and hand over your passport, flight ticket for this free transit stamp.
