About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Hi, I am a UK citizen flying to Shanghai from Tokyo and staying for a short period.

I'm flying to shanghai from tokyo and staying there for 48 hours. Then I fly down to Hong Kong where my flight back to London is from. Do I need to get a tourist visa if i'm only in Shanghai for two days? Or is there an alternative for people in transit? The only reason i'm doing this is because there are no direct flights from Tokyo to Hong Kong and I've heard the L type is a real hassle to sort out

Nope, I think you can enjoy 72 hours free transit in Shanghai.
