Transportation from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou n to Lanzhou.

Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou, you can take the direct long-distance bus at Chengdu Xinnanmen Bus Station. It takes 9-10 hours in total.

No direct public transportation is in service from Jiuzhaigou to Danxia, but there is one bus to Lanzhou every morning at 07:00. It takes 10-11 hours and the bus fare is CNY237 per person.

Then from Lanzhou, you can take a train to Zhangye directly and it takes around 4.5h. Upon arrival at Zhangye Railway Station, take local bus no. 4 or take a taxi to local West Bus Station, where there are direct buses to Danxia Landform.

Apart from bus service from Jiuzhaigou to Lanzhou, I'm afraid there is no direct public transportation. You may have to fly from Jiuzhaigou to Chengdu and then to Lanzhou.

Yes, there is cable car service in Mt. Emei and it will take you to the top, Golden Peak of the mountain. Personally, Huangshan is more worthy than Mt. Emei. So if you have visited Mt. Huangshan and also your time in Chengdu is limited, Emei Mountain can be skipped. However, Panda Breeding Center is a must-see spot.

You can hug and play with pandas there as well as take pictures with them, but you have to pay the donation fee. I remember it is around CNY2,000 (300-350USD).

Generally, time is enough to reach the Leshan Buddha in the same day if you go to the panda center in early morning. The buses to Leshan Buddha can be taken at Xinnanmen Bus Station and North Bus Station (Chengbei Bus Station).

At Chengdu, you can also visit Three-Star Piles Museum (Sanxingdui Museum), Jinli Street and Chunxi Road. The surrouding Jiuzhaigou Valley and Huanglong Scenic Area as well as Dujiangyan Irrigation Project.

Yeah, it is fine to take pictures in the distance, in which way you don't need to pay the donation fee, but it is a pity to stay close with the cute animal.


Personally, Mutianyu section is more recommended. It is also not far from Jiankou Great Wall, so you can visit them both.

I saw from pic there is a river or lake at Juyongguan pass......is that far from enter gate ??? Or we should walk view km brfore we found the river/lake ??? I heard we can use helicopter to get nice viewfrom above....where we can rent helycopter n how much it cost ??? Thanx U again......!!!!
