Hi, it refers to the form of visa notification issued by the Chinese governmental departments or company/organization authorized by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Personally, I think you can ask your university authorities to issue one for you with official stamp of the university. Perhaps you can try to ask the people who helped you to get your residence permit for more details.

You are holding a Pakistan passport, in your case your wife can't apply for S1 long term, only S2 is available to her. You need to make sure if your valid visa covers the whole duration of her stay, if not, it has to be S2 with max 90 days. But it can be extended before it expires in China.

No matter whether you are applying for S1 or S2 type, you need to have invitation letter, in your case is your invitation letter, your current valid student X, your passport photocopy, the original and photocopy of certification to prove the relationship between you and your family, e.g wife, marriage certification that contains both of your full names.
