Closed for Chinese New Year 2014?

Hi I'm a Malaysian currently working in US. I'm thinking of visiting shanghai on my way back to US in feb after my trip home to Malaysia. I'm just wondering if you are going to be closed for the Chinese New Year holiday and how long will you be closed for so that I can plan to either have my applications done here or back home in Malaysia.

Well, the embassies hasn't published 2014 holiday schedule yet. It's for sure that embassy is closed during the Chinese New Year. However, some Chinese embassies might have some differences on how long they will be closed.

2014 Chinese New Year falls on Jan 31. However, the holiday usually starts at the New Year's Eve (Jan 30) and lasts for 7 days. So the best way is to avoid applying from Jan 30 to Feb 5.
