How much money during my transfer in Guangzhou airport

I am stopping off in GZ Airport for 2 hours and 40 minutes, i've read you need CNY to use in the airport? How much would you say is a sufficient amount just to buy a beer or coffee whilst I wait? Thank you in advance.
