About:Nanjing Road

Nanjing Rd. in Shanghai

I am with my friend have 10 hr 50 min. layover at Pudong Int'l Airport and will arrive at 10:15 P.M. on 2th of January and leaving at 9:05 A.M.. How far from airport to Nanjing Rd. and how to get from airport at night? How much does transportation fee cost and working hours for shopping? Can we spend our whole night at Nanjing Rd. or near to that locations? We are first time in SH, so we do not want to spend our time for sleeping :) Do you have any optimal suggestions to spend our layover time in SH more interesting?
Thank you!

There is about 45 to 50km between the airport and the NJ Road.
At nigh, you can take the airport shuttle bus night line to reach Middle Zhejiang Road (Yan'an Road, People's Square) and then walk to Nanjing Road.
If you take a taxi, the fare is around 200 to 250RMB.
Usually, the shopping malls along the NJ Road close at around 22:00 to 23:00 except some bars. So upon your arrival at the road, you may find most of the stores closed.
Since you will reach SH so late, no attractions will open.

If you do not want to sleep, I think you may go to the Bund Area, where you can find some bars and see some cities' ancient construction on your own at night. You may enjoy the pub culture of SH.
