About:Qingming Festival

Attraction places will be crowded during qingming festival?

Hi there, i wonder the attraction place (great wall,Forbidden City,Tiananmen Square..etc) will be very crowded during this festival? and the subway will be very crowded also ? my travelling date 2-8 Apr 2014

The people are less than that in other holidays in Qingming, so you may have chances to enjoy a nice holiday.
But in order to make sure, it is suggested to arrange everything well in advance, so that you will be not in a rush then.

Ching Ming Festival is open for one whole month. People can go to pray to their ancestors any day during that particular month (usually done during weekends as most people need not go to work). Therefore, it will not be crowded and will not affect places of interest.

Tomb sweeping are usually in the country-side, in the home-town, not in the city.

We pray to the dead in the graveyard, so no worry about crowdedness in places of attraction.

No, the Chinese Tomb Sweeping Festival holiday in 2014 only has three days, from April 5 to April 7.
