is my single entry china visa valid for this purpose??

i am malaysian and will be flying to beijing on 1 jan 2014...i have applied for single entry, during my stay in beijing i will be visiting tianjin as well...

Yes, it is enough, you can visit Beijing and Tianjin with it.
