I'm danish and I'm currently in NZ and need to apply for a tourist visa. Can I do that here in NZ?

Me and my friend are going to travel in China for a month (around june 2014). We are currently in New Zealand so we were wondering if it is possible to apply for a tourist L somewhere in New Zealand to maybe save some time bacause we need our passport to travel to other countries.

It is ok for you to apply in Wellington if you have document showing your resident status or certificate of legal stay in NZ. But a Chinese single entry Tourist L is valid for 3 months only from issue date, so you should apply in April or May 2014.
