About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Can I use the 72 hour visa scheme in both cities?

Hi, I am flying Bangkok/Hong Kong/Beijing and staying at an airport hotel for 24 hours. Then I fly Beijing to Shanghai for 2 days and fly Shanghai/Hong Kong/Bangkok.

No, this itinerary does not apply to 72 hour free transit policy. You need to apply for a Chinese visa in advance.
