CNY and Radio import

I have read that you cannot bring RMB cash into China but I also read that you can bring it. Also I read about raidio transmitters/receivers. I went to my bank and ordered 1800CNY to have on hand until I can do a currency exchange because I am switching flights in Beijing and thought I may need CNY for food or something in airport between flights. I also have an electronic translator that has an FM radio on it. My question is can I bring the CNY and the translator or are they both prohibited?

You may misled. CNY cash is totally allowed to take into China.

For the translator or radio transmitters, it is allowed to take only one in. And it may required to be checked by the customs.
