Timing

Hi, I'm a solo 21 y/o female planning to visit Xi'an and Mt. Huashan (from Beijing via night sleeper trains) over 4 days or so.
With your 2 day itinerary, stopping at a hostel on the East peak for the sunrise, how long does it roughly take to;

- Hike the route and reach the East peak from the entrance?
- Hike the 2nd day route and walk back down or take the cable car down to the entrance at the foot of the mountain?

Also, which plan do you think is better;

- Beijing to Xi'an for 2 days, then to Huashan for 1.5 - 2 days, then a sleeper train to Beijing
or
- Beijing to Huashan for 1.5 - 2 days, then continue to Xi'an for 2 days, sleeper train back to Beijing

Hi, it takes around 6-7 hours to hike from the entrance to the East peak. On the second day, you may hike for 2.5 hours to North peak, where you can take the cable car(20 minutes) back down to the foot of the mountain. I suggest you stay in Xian for days and then visit Huashan since it will be very tired to climb the mountain after an overnight train journey.

Thanks for your help! Decided to visit Xi'an first. After I watch the sunrise, I was hoping to hike along the other mountain peaks and see them all before I descend. How long does that roughly take?

It takes about 5 hours to hike along the whole mountain peaks, but it depends on your walking pace and time for taking photo. To save time, you are suggested to take the cable car down as it will be very late to descend the mountain by foot.
