Will you stay in a hotel in Kunming? If so, your hotel may be able to arrange such trips. You may consult them.0

My hotel did not have the means to arrange a trip to Stone Forest. For some reason they would not help at all and said I did not have the "papers" to go. I hired a driver and went in a taxi with a big hole in the back seat. It was several hours and he took the back roads rather than pay tolls. It was one of the greatest things I have even done. Do NOT just walk around in the touristy front part of Stone Forest. Hire a guide and hike in the back rocks. Truly amazing. Do whatever it takes but go!0
