About:Guangzhou City-Bus

Recommendations on what we should do in Guangzhou?

Hi, We arrive in baiyun airport on Sat Dec 7th at 17:00 and fly out on Sunday morning 09:30. Can anyone suggest hotel, transport options to hotel, time, costs, meals out or in hotel (2 kids in tow!). Obviously time is limited but anyone done this stopover before? Any suggestions / recommendations

What's your budget for accommodation? Though, it is best to find a hotel near Haizhu Plaza, which can be reach by shuttle bus line 5 or subway line. Then it will be very convinient for shopping, dining and visiting. Besides, you may walk from there to Tianzi Port to take a cruise to view the scenery of the Pearl Rover, the night view worthy more.

How long does bus take? Would it be a viable option to get us to air port at 07:30 sunday for 09:30 flight? Budget for a hotel approx $100

The shuttle bus takes 50-55min between Haizhu Plaza and the airport.
The first bus leaves the terminus at 05:20 in the morning and if you take that, you can catch your plane at 09:30. But if you leave at 07:30, it is too late.

Budget 100USD? If so, I recommend GZ Hotel or Bauhinia Hotel nearby.

Is the "metro" not a quicker way to travel around the area? (And I guess not prone to conjestion?)
I think 2 hrs of additional travelling is probably not an option so may just have to go for a hotel near airport

If at the crowded time of the city, the metro is much faster than the public bus, otherwise, it may not be a quicker way to travel around.
If you do not plan to travel around the city, it is suggested live near the airport for a night.
