The high-speed train takes about 6.5 hours, costing CNY518 with second class ticket. Flight takes about 1.5 hours and CNY740 with economy class tickets, but there are always discounts excluding Chinese public holidays. You can book tickets based on your schedule.0

Hi, the best way is by air. if there is not busy Chinese holiday season you can catch a flight from 380 to 700 RMB one way fare.
fast train is long way , shanghai to nanjing to Jinan to Qingdao and in same price you can catch flight which saves time and money.
