About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Transit visa in both directions?

I am considering a trip from New York to Bangkok with a flight change in Beijing on the way to Bangkok and a change in Shanghai on the way back to New York. Can I do a separate 72 hour free transit in each of these two cities en route?

I know that I meet the requirements. The question is more specifically whether I can do this twice in one trip.
