Getting through customs once in China

About how long does it take to pass through customs once one lands in China? My flight is scheduled to arrive at 6:30pm, but my hotel (in the same city) will not hold my room beyond 8pm. Should I be worried that I won't have a room once I get to the hotel?

Which custom do you need to pass through? To be honest, it is hard to tell you an exact time.
Generally speaking, it takes about 10 to 20 minutes if you pass the custom at the airport. If you pass the Luohu Port, it may takes longer if there are many people at the port. Sometimes, you may need to wait about one hour.
In order to make sure, it is suggested to communicate well the hotel and try your best to ask them to leave the room for you and you try your best to meet the time.
Good luck wit you.
