Hello is the May day holiday a good time to visit Beijing

will attractions such as the Forbidden.City be open to visitors?

I'm afraid not. As it will be during Chinese holiday, many peole would have a short vacation by traveling, so it will be very crowded. And all the attractions like Forbidden City will be open then.
