About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

Tourist L extension before expiration

Hello, I have a tourist visa, 6 months double entry with a 60 day duration of stay. It expires on the 11th of jan but I was hoping to stay longer, it is coming up to my 60 days when I need to leave, when I come back that day that will be my double entry used up. Does anyone know what I should do ? Should I go back to Hong Kong and renew it for another 6 months once my second lot of 60 days is up? But if I go and they refuse I won't be able to get back and will be stuck in Hong Kong. This is my first ever visa, only 1 stamp in my passport, any advice ?

Hi, you can extend it while you are in mainland China from local PSB. The application should be submitted to the PSB atleast 7 days before the 60 day ends. The PSB officers will decide the entries and duration of stay issued to the extension.

Thanks, have they changed that rule so you can only get it extended for 30 days from within china ?

Also is it still easy to renew a tourist L in Hong Kong?

I only know that the extension can not be issued longer than the original one you have. If you have 60 day one, it is possible to get 60 day again. If you apply in HK, that is not an extension actually, but an application for a new one.
