Hi. Im travelling to Yunnan for 1 week in December.

Is Shangri La too cold at this time and is there a threat of snow storms? Also the Tiger Leaping Gorge. And how cold does it get in Lijiang, Dali and the gorge at this time of year?

Yes, it will be very cold in Shangri-la in Dec. whose highest temp in daytime may be 5-6C and at night, the lowest temp shall be -10C or lower. Just be careful in case that you meet snow storm. It is suggested to prepare enough thermal clothes, mauntaineering jackts, gloves and scarves to keep warm.

For the gorge, Dali and Lijiang, it will be warmer than Shangri-la and you can still enjoy some scenery, so it i ok to travel then.
