What are the SHadow Puppets made out of?

I wanted to clarify if the puppets are made out of paper or cardboard, because the thin cloth as the screen would protect, and also if we coloured the puppets, would the colour shine through the screen? We were making puppets for our Drama project, so we wanted to know which type would be suitable. Thank you for your help, Sharnikka. AKA Shanny
