I came to the Embassy today to apply for a L type one (I am a US Citizen). There were a few hundred people there, and I could not wait that long. Thank you.Steven Roy

Sorry, the applicants don't need to make appoints for their applications. If you are in a hurry, you might ask for the rush service, which enables you to acquire yours on the same day you submit your application if you submit the required documents before 11:00. And you need to pay extra money for the service.
