About:China Tourist Visa

Can anybody help me with my visa?

I am a US citizen who will visit PRC as a private tourist with friend on 11/8-17/2013:
1- Which type should I apply?
2- How much does it cost?
3- How soon should I apply?
4- Other requirements?
Thank you very much

You should apply for a L type. It costs 140 USD for a single entry one. It takes about four working days for the embassy to deal with your application. You can apply for it one month in advance before you go but shouldn't be earlier than three months.

To apply for the L type, you need to provide your passport, filled 2013 application form stuck to a recent passport size photo and an invitation letter. If you don't have the invitation letter, you should provide round-trip air tickets and hotel reservation in PRC.

Dear Ms. Linda,
Thank you for your advice. One more question. Since it costs me the same ($140) for either single entry or multiple entry for 24 months, can I just apply for multiple entry for 24 months. Who knows? I might want to re-visit China. Please advise.

Thank,

Chhan D. Touch

If you didn't come to PRC before, it will be very diffcult for you to acquire the multiple entry one. If your trip does require for a multiple one, you can try to apply for it. However, the consular officers have the final say on what you will get.
