day trip to longmen grottoes from zhengzhou

We are looking to visit Longmen Grottoes early November on a Sunday and trying to find out how to best get there? Is there a train or bus that we can take? We are staying in ZZ at  the Guang Dong Hotel which I believe is not far from a train station? Which ZZ Trainstation and can we get from there to Longmen station? Also how far is Longmen from Longmen station?

Your hotel is very close to the ZZ Railway Station, so you can walk to reach there to take the bullet trains for Luoyang Longmen Train Station. Get out of the station, you can take the local bus line 67 to reach Longmen Grottoes directly. The grottoes is about 10km to the Longmen Train Station.

Firstly, I'd like to tell you that trains and buses in China are almost clearly marked by numbers, so you can read it for sure. The bullet train from ZZ city to Luoyang Longmen High-speed Train Station costs CNY39.5 for a second class soft seat and CNY59.5 for a first class soft seat. And the fare of bus no. 67 to the Grottoes is CNY1 per person.
