SHANGHAI LANDING ON 31DEC OUT 04JAN14 WITH MY FAMILY (WIFE & 2KIDS (11&17)

I AM LANDING IN SH ON 31DEC13 AND STAY TILL 04JAN14. WHAT WILL BE WEATHER CONDITION AND SUGGEST CLOTHING OR CAN WE GET SOME CHEAP JACKETS ETC UPON ARRIVAL AT SH AND WHERE TO BUY IT. WE WANT TO TAKE THE EXPERIENCE ON THE BULLET TRAIN SUGGEST CHEAP DISTANCE FROM SH TO WHICH STATION AND HOW MUCH WILL IT COST FOR A RETURN TICKET. CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR IS CELEBRATED IN CHINE ?? I MEAN SHOPS ARE OPEN AND WITH DISCOUNTS !! LIKE EUROPE AND OTHER ASIAN COUNTRIES !!!!

It is suggested to take your down jacket and thick sweaters when you go there.
You can get some cheap jackets along Nanjing Road, but you may need the jacket when you get out of the plane.
For taking the bullet trains, it is suggested to go to Suzhou and the ticket fare is around 25RMB per person for the second class seat and 27 to 40RMB for the first class seat.
The Christmas and New Year are celebrated in China, but it may not be so lively than that in other countries. You can find a large discount for many clothes and items in the shopping malls.
