lodging on mt emei

hello - we're a family of 4 (kids are 9 and 12) and will be staying on the mountain 2 nights, 3 days in early OCTOBER. we are wondering if there are families that rent out a room or 2 of their home (guest houses) or if lodging is completely restricted to the temples? is it important to figure out where we will stay beforehand or can we decide on our lodging a few hours before we're exhausted each day? thanks!

Visitors can choose to live in the local home stay hostels for two nights.
If you can decide where to live, it is suggested to book in advance. But according to my experience, if you want to see the sunrise, you need to live close to the Bright Submit and you can still find one when you are there if you go there not in the holiday.
