best bus service from Wuhan G-train station to Songzi, Hubei

can someone advise me the best, most direct bus service for the journey

You must refer to WH Railway Station. Upon your getting off, find bus no. 540 to its terminus, Wuchang Train Station. Then walk to the nearby Hongji Bus Station to easily take a bus to Songzi within 4h.

yes, high-speed train from Guangzhou to Wuhan, arriving WH railway station. Is the #540 bus stop just right outside WH station or there is a long walk? How long of a bus ride #540 from WH station to Wuchang station? How long of the walk from Wuchang station to Hongji bus station?

The bus station of bus 540 is on the east square of the railway station and it can be easily found after you get out of the railway station.
The bus takes about one hour and a half to two hours.
The Hongji Bus Station is about 900 from the railway station east square. The bus station is on Zhongshan Road.

Are you saying the #540 bus from Wuhan train station to Wuchang train station takes about 1.5 to 2 hrs?
